3DSIM™ Named RAPID + TCT 2017 Innovation Award Finalist for Second Consecutive Year

The RAPID + TCT Innovation Award recognizes the most innovative new products or services exhibited at RAPID + TCT that are judged to have the greatest potential impact on the industry. This year 3DSIM presented its latest product, exaSIM™ – an easy-to-use, cloud-based simulation tool designed to give users rapid, predictive insight into metal powder bed fusion processes.

exaSIM is a physics-based AM process simulation tool. Part distortion and residual stress accumulation due to the layer-by-layer addition of materials in AM is predicted and output to the user. exaSIM also provides an ability to generate supports based upon residual stress accumulation patterns, conduct trend analyses, and determine optimum part orientations prior to a build, rather than iterating experimentally. exaSIM considerably reduces the time, costs, and risks associated with AM production.
